Founded in August 1997 by John Thompson & Rod French as "The Grand Falls-Windsor Living Interpretation Project"; Another Newfoundland Drama Company Inc.'s Summer Theatre Program has grown to be recognized as a quality Newfoundland & Labrador Theatre Experience.
To establish a theatrical tourism product in Grand Falls-Windsor while offering students of theatre and music a means of practicing their craft while earning money to continue their education.
The Company?s first production; The Price of Paper, written by John Thompson, premiered August 4, 1998. In 1999 the company began providing a Dinner Theatre experience; and for four years was associated with the Soirees & Times component of the province?s Special Celebrations. This connection granted the group access to a mass marketing campaign targeted at tourists. It also presented the opportunity for the their popular dinner menu and entertainment to be adjudicated annually by such people as Master-chef Bill Donnelly and Newfoundland entertainer Kelly Russell.
In 2001, for the Marconi Celebration, the company brought a piece of Grand Falls-Windsor radio history to life with the War World II radio show "Atlantic Serenade." The show toured the island that year, stopping in seven communities between St. John?s & Port aux Basque.
In 2004 the group was featured on the NTV tourism travel program "Beyond Your Back Yard". The theatre company has enjoyed annual growth and has delivered more than 360 performances while providing summer employment for more than one hundred and fifty individuals. In their role as theatre ambassadors, they have welcomed thousands of people from all over the world to Grand Falls-Windsor. Today the company performs three times per year, with a March Concert, the eight week summer theatre run and a series of Christmas Shows. The dinner theatre's seating capacity is a comfortable 160.
Another Newfoundland Drama Company is an incorporated not-for-profit community service organization administered by a volunteer board of directors.
